• Mentor

Max and Florian got to know each other during their dual Bachelor studies in auditing. This is how Max became aware of Friends of Botriver and the mentoring programme in particular. He completed the dual study programme in cooperation with PwC. Max now works in consulting at KPMG and is a passionate sportsman in his spare time.

As part of the FoB team, he works to realise the organisation's goals. In his role as a mentor, it is crucial for him that the exchange takes place at eye level. Max's goal is to get to know his mentee in Botriver personally and thus gain a better insight into the environment.

  • Tell us a little about yourself and your role within Friends of Botriver.

Hey, I am Max(imilian). I am 22 years old and currently working as a consultant in finance. I joined Friends of Botriver in July 2022 after having some drinks with Florian and Sandra. That was the first time I heard about the program and was immediately excited. Ever since I am working as a mentor for two of our mentees.

What do you enjoy the most about volunteering at Friends of Botriver?

While working for FoB I had the opportunity to get to know our mentees in-person. That was one of the best moments during my time here. It was a great experience and a very humbling time.

We started to introduce our mentees to university from a first hand experience. It was very overwhelming and led to a lot of motivation and thankfulness for this organization.

Why do you think the mentorship program is beneficial?

FoB builds bridges between school, university and initial work experience. We know that mentoring is not a one way street. We believe that it‘s not just our task to share experiences and thoughts from our view. It is about understanding and learning from our mentees. That is why we thrive to create an intercultural network, which is based on respect and open communication to meet others at eye level.
